Unlocking Revelation, Part 1 – Follow-Up: Called Out and Set Apart/ Bible Study Blog

In the first part, we saw that Revelation cannot be read alone. It’s the last chapter of a much bigger story, and the puzzle pieces are scattered throughout Genesis, Exodus, the Prophets, and the Gospels.

One of the clearest pieces comes from Exodus 13. After the Passover, God didn’t just free Israel from Egypt—He commanded them to remember their deliverance and to consecrate the firstborn to Him. Egypt was more than a place; it symbolized bondage, sin, and man-made systems.

What It Means for Us Today
History repeats itself. Just as God called Israel out of Egypt, He calls the Body of Christ out of the world today. Through Jesus, our Passover Lamb, we are redeemed and freed. But freedom is just the beginning. The Israelites didn’t leave Egypt and immediately walk into the Promised Land—they first went through the wilderness.

The wilderness was not punishment—it was preparation. It stripped away Egypt’s influence and taught them to depend completely on God’s leading. The pillar of cloud by day and fire by night is a foreshadow of the Holy Spirit guiding us now.

In the same way, the Body of Christ is walking through a wilderness season. God is teaching us to let go of the old man, to live consecrated, and to walk in holiness with new hearts and renewed minds.

📜 Why This Connects to Revelation
Revelation describes judgments, separations, and a remnant being preserved. Exodus shows us the pattern: God always delivers His people, but He also refines them. The Exodus wasn’t just about leaving Egypt; it was about becoming God’s holy nation. The same is true for the Church today—we are being set apart as His Kingdom people.

As we walk in holiness and truth, even what we wear can spark conversations about Jesus. That’s why I created the Remnant Hoodie—to inspire others to seek Him.
